COMMITMENT TO THE LOCAL CHURCH
Each regional ministry of Campus Outreach (CO) is under the authority and leadership of a local church in that region, which provides the ministry with accountability, leadership and resources. In the case of Campus Outreach Central Illinois (COCI), the regional church is Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA). It is the desire of COCI to grow the local church by mobilizing the graduates from the COCI campus ministries into the local church in order to help it thrive.
COMMITMENT TO STRATEGIC CAMPUSES
Not all college campuses are created equal. In order to be the best stewards of the resources entrusted to them, CO begins ministries on campuses that help them have the greatest impact in students lives. There are many factors that CO evaluates in order to determine the strategic nature of a campus.
COMMITMENT TO GROW
Campus Outreach has found that the most effective way to grow big is by staying small. Campus Outreach is actually made up of a network of more than 20 “franchises” throughout the world that all share the same vision, values, and strategic commitments. Because of CO’s commitment to the church, each franchise is under the authority of a local hub church for that region. By continuing to send out new teams to new states and countries, each individual franchise stays relatively small while the movement of CO grows - producing more and more leadership opportunities and building more and more laborers.
METHOD OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Campus Outreach relies on the faithful giving of thousands of individuals, churches, alumni, businesses and foundations who join us in reaching college students with the gospel. CO is focused on being faithful stewards of the funds entrusted to the staff and campus ministries. Staff members raise funds for the ministries they conduct. Donations are used for the reasonable compensation and ministry expenses of our staff members, for ministry programs and for student summer training and mission projects. This allows the CO staff to be free to devote the majority of their time investing in student’s lives.
